Food Security
Addressing student hunger through free meals, affordable food, grocery support, and sustainable access.
About This Campaign
Access to high-quality, nutritious, affordable, and diverse food on campus remains a challenge for students across Ontario. Healthy food supports positive learning environments, but when suitable options are costly or unavailable, students may be forced to go hungry or purchase food that is neither nutritious nor aligned with their dietary needs.
Food Security addresses student hunger through free meal programs, affordable food initiatives, grocery support, and sustainable food access. UTMSU will also fight for campus groups' right to purchase affordable food from off-campus vendors for events.
UTMSU will continue the fight for
- The right to buy food from off-campus vendors and stores
- Free meal programs
- Affordable food initiatives
- Grocery support
- Sustainable food access
